Lavender is the sweet scent of the perfect sleep. It’s true! Lavender has been proven over and over again that it helps us sleep by relieving stress from the body. After my busy daily schedule I look forward to getting cozy in my bed and using my 5 favorite lavender products.
1. Lavender Body Wash
I always enjoy a nice hot shower or bath after my workouts and right before bed time. The steam from the hot shower helps to eliminate toxins and offers benefits to your skin. On top of that, the lavender body body wash & foam bath from Bath and Body Works begins my aromatherapy relaxation process. Actually the latin root of the word lavender is lavare which means “to wash”.
2. Lavender Body Lotion
After the shower I lather on lavender body lotion. The best lotion is Lavender Organic Body Lotion from L’Occitane. It is organic and nourishes the body with shea butter.
3. Lavender Pillow Spray
Pillow spray gives you the essential oil right below you. After a long day there is nothing like falling right onto your pillow and taking a deep breathe in of pure relaxation. I use the Sleep – Lavender & Cedarwood Pillow Spray from Bath and Body Works. It is the perfect addition to my collection.
4. Lavender Essential Oil Humidifier
I am a true believer in essential oils and their benefits to your overall health. I purchased the Calily Ultrasonic Essential Oil Diffuser with the Aromatherapy Essential Oil Set on Amazon. It came with 6 different essential oils including lavender. (which of course is the one I use when I sleep). I keep this on all night long and it even has a soothing light the changes colors if you want. Diffusers have antimicrobials that help to eliminate airborne germs in turn making your immune system healthier.
5. Lavender Candle
Of course I don’t leave this on while sleeping but I do while I spend time relaxing before bed. It is my time to sit down and relax with the powerful scent. DW home has the best scented candle. I bought the “Relaxing Lavender” scent and it is simply stated right on the candle itself: relaxing. It is a large 3-wick candle that is hand poured and richly scented.
Sleep is key to overall wellness. When you get a goodnight sleep you feel more energized, have a faster metabolism, and feel more motivated. Try a few lavender bedtime rituals and notice your sleep improve and stress levels drop. Sleep tight!
